Privacy policy

The spots you save, the places you mark as “been here”, and the spots you submit are stored in your browser's localStorage on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you submit a spot (see below). Clearing your browser data removes it; we have no copy and cannot restore it.

When you submit a spot via the Add a spot form, the details you enter (spot name, type, region, price, amenities, description) are sent to our review inbox so we can verify and publish the spot. We ask for no personal details in the form — please don't include any in the description. A copy also stays in your browser under “my submissions”. If the review inbox is not connected, the submission stays only on your device and we tell you so on the confirmation screen.

If you use “Nearest to me” sorting, your browser asks for permission to read your location. The coordinates are used only inside your browser to sort spots by distance — they are never stored or sent to any server. Deny the permission and everything else keeps working.

Map images are loaded from OpenStreetMap's tile servers. When a map is on screen, your browser requests tiles directly from their servers, which — as with any web request — see your IP address. See the OSM Foundation privacy policy.

If enabled, we use Plausible Analytics — a privacy-friendly, cookieless tool that records aggregate page views only. It stores no personal data, sets no cookies, and does not track you across sites, so no consent banner is needed. If it is not enabled, no analytics run at all.

The site is served by our hosting provider (Vercel), which processes standard technical request data (IP address, user agent) in server logs to deliver the site and prevent abuse, as any web host does.

• No accounts, no profiles, no email lists.
• No cookies and no cross-site tracking.
• No selling or sharing of data with advertisers.

Some outbound links on spot pages may be affiliate links (marked as sponsored). Clicking one takes you to the partner's site under their own privacy policy; we pass no personal data to them.
